Welcome to Union new students and welcome back those returning! We look forward to new additions to our Heretics family. Over the course of this year, we will have opportunities for intramural sports (including basketball, flag football, and dodgeball), weekly runs for all different levels of runners, yoga, and other wellness activities, not to mention some incredible parties for Superbowl Sunday and March Madness!!
With people from former collegiate athletes to those who have dreaded the thought of running more than a city block, we welcome all to be a part of this incredible family.
If you have any questions, just look for Rix, Leslie, or Eric Fineman around campus. An all campus email will be sent out in the next week or so with more details. Get excited!

Get ready for the start of this new year, friends! We have a preliminary mock-up for jerseys we hope to have available for this year. More information about the exciting development of the Body Caucus to come soon!

Union Theological Seminary Body Caucus Find Your Physical Spirit!!!

Last night the Heretics fell to Delta Sig in the semifinals basketball tournament after a hard fought game until the end. Down 10-22 at halftime, it looked as though this might turn into a disappointing rout. And then you heard the voice of our fellow Union students and faculty on the sidelines, coming out of their own huddle and bursting into chants “LETS GO HERETICS” when we had the ball, and “DEFENSE” when we didn’t.Their voices filled up the gym, echoing off the walls and drowning out even the referees' whistles.
And suddenly something happened, and it turned into a competitive game.
It was like our team had renewed energy for the second half. After forcing countless turnovers on Delta Sig and making some unbelievable plays, the Heretics pulled within 1 point with a minute and a half left in the game. Unfortunately, the lead Delta Sig had was a little too much to overcome in the end. The final score was Delta Sig 36, Heretics 33.

We would like to give our fullest thanks to all who came out to support us during the playoffs. Your support truly did change how the game went both in the quarter and semifinals. Even though this is not how we would have liked to end the season, I know all of us are moved in some way by the overwhelmingly positive support we’ve gotten, and we would just like to recognize that as our season comes to a close.

Stay tuned, ‘cause the red-and-black aren’t going away anytime soon.
