Dr. Zolin is interested in understanding Parkinson’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders.
As a Leon Levy Research Fellow, he will be working in the laboratories of Jacqueline Burre and Manu Sharma at Weill Cornell studying the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease.

For his postdoctoral research, Dr. Keshav B. Suresh became increasingly interested in understanding how astrocytes modulate neural circuits to shape behavior.
As a Leon Levy Fellow in Dr. Vikram Gadagkar's lab at Columbia's Zuckerman Institute, he will address this question using the natural and complex motor behavior of birdsong.

Over 240 NYC students from grades 2-12 came together for our annual Student Showcase on May 29-30, presenting yearlong projects developed through the Scientist-in-Residence program. From sleep and wellbeing to urban heat islands and working robotics, their creativity, curiosity, and passion blew us away! 💡🌱🤖
The showcase wasn’t just about science, it was about connection, communication, and celebration. Some special guest speakers included Seema Kumar, CEO of Cure; NYC Council Member Rita Joseph; Roy Nachum, Co-Founder of Mercer Labs; Cindy Lawrence, Executive Director of MoMath: the National Museum of Mathematics, among others. All of whom shared powerful messages of encouragement and inspiration.
Huge thanks to all of our incredible guest speakers, scientists, teachers, and supporters who made the event so special. And of course, to the students: your love for discovery continues to inspire us all 🔬👩🔬

Make a real impact in NYC classrooms ⚛️ 🏫
NYC-based graduate students, post-docs and professionals from STEM disciplines who are interested in making a difference in the lives of students are encouraged to apply to Scientist-in-Residence.
This program pairs science mentors with public school educators and supports them in creating and implementing a year-long research project.
Scientists serve as role models and content experts while gaining the unique opportunity to build relationships with students and develop their mentoring and teaching skills. Scientists will also receive a stipend for their participation.
