Bill McNally - Head Varsity Coach
Bill McNally (335-137) marked his 20th season as the varsity boys’ basketball coach in 2012. Before Poly, he served as an assistant coach at NYU where his duties included coaching the Violets Junior Varsity squad. He began his coaching career as an assistant to former Poly varsity boys’ coach and current girls’ varsity coach Michael Junsch '71. Three times "The D
aily News" has named McNally New York City Private School Coach of the Year, an honor he has also received once from "The New York Post" and four times from the New York State Coaches Association. During his tenure, 34 players have gone on to compete at the collegiate level. Jamal Murphy - Junior Varsity Head Coach, Assistant Varsity Coach
Jamal Murphy '94 has been on the coaching staff for the past two seasons. He was a two-sport standout for Poly's Blue Devils when he competed in high school, and was a 1000-point career scorer before lettering in basketball at Guilford College in North Carolina. Keith Sullivan – Assistant Varsity Coach
Coach Sullivan joined Poly's coaching staff in 2012 after four years as the head coach at SUNY Canton University. Prior to becoming one of the youngest college head coaches in the country, Coach Sullivan served as an assistant coach at his alma mater St. Lawrence University. During that time he completed his masters degree in Educational Leadership. He competed in 97 games at St. Lawrence University and received honorable mention All-Liberty League as a senior. Sean Biesty '99 has primarily worked with the junior varsity team focusing on game preparation and practice planning. As a student-athlete at Poly, Coach Biesty was a two-year member of the varsity basketball team and along with being a soccer player. He is a graduate of St. Joseph’s College.
