Hunter College SEEK Program The Percy Ellis Sutton Search for Education, Elevation and Knowledge Program (SEEK)

The Percy Ellis Sutton Search for Education, Elevation and Knowledge Program (SEEK) is a higher education opportunity program offered in the senior colleges of the City University of New York (CUNY). It was established to provide comprehensive academic support to assist capable students who otherwise might not be able to attend college due to their educational and financial circumstances. Students

are admitted into SEEK regardless of age, s*x, s*xual orientation, race, disability, or creed. The Percy Ellis Sutton SEEK Program at Hunter College provides a network of comprehensive programs and services in order to assist participants to maximize and enhance their academic potential. Through academic advising, academic skill building, career seminars, personal counseling, and mentoring opportunities, participants enrolled in the CUNY-funded SEEK Program receive personalized support during their college experience. Collaborative partnerships with academic departments, within the Office of the Provost, offices within the Division of Student Affairs, outside organizations, agencies, businesses and alumni, work to enhance SEEK's educational services to its participants.

Join us in watching the acclaimed motion picture, Selma, a biopic on the life of Martin Luther King Jr. during the civil rights movement. The film was nominated for 4 Golden Globes and 2 Academy Awards. It received the Golden Globe and Academy Award for Best Original Song.

There will be a discussion on the significance of the historical events depicted in the film and their impact in today’s society.
