What is happening with this CleanTok obsession? Ontario expert, at your service.āœ‹Ā I had such a fun time interviewing for this article. Loraine Centeno explored how something as seemingly nondescript as could be affecting so many. As someone who enjoys these videos myself, I dug deep and shared everything going on through a digital and psychological well-being lens.

Read the full piece at the link in my bio.

Some of my main messages:
⭐ The brain is wired for pattern completion — there’s a neurological sense of relief when disorder becomes order, especially when we get it vicariously (no effort required)
⭐ The Zeigarnik Effect — our minds hold unfinished tasks in low-grade tension; a messy room registers as an incomplete task, and CleanTok scratches that itch
⭐ Digital Dopamine — the before/after format is a perfect dopamine delivery loop: we see chaos, anticipate resolution, get it, and the short format means the cycle resets fast and keeps us watching
⭐ The Scroll Blackout — when you lose track of time and can’t remember what you just watched minutes ago; even ā€œwholesomeā€ content can quietly drain you
⭐ Even positive content has a dark side — CleanTok can trigger comparison and feelings of inadequacy about your own home/life over time
⭐ SafeSocial framework — social media is a risky behaviour like drinking or driving; it needs harm reduction strategies, not just willpower
⭐ 5 steps to take back control: build awareness → modify consumption → build offline skills → model good behaviour → hold platforms accountable

When choosing my word for the year, I started with STRENGTH, thinking that’s what I needed in Q4 last year. Then I thought, no… I do not want to withstand any more force. Maybe the word should be POWER. I will exert the force in 2026. But then, no… I don’t want to exert anything. I’m tired and postpartum. I just want it to be easy. So I chose EASE.

I told my coach, , about my word. And that in the first week of the year as newly Dr. Bailey, landed our biggest contract yet and first 7-figure deal developing leaders at a massive public institution, my kids book went live, and I signed in with Speakers Spotlight agency. In the first 6 weeks of the year, I was asked to brief the UN and to go on BNN Bloomberg to discuss issues important to me and everyone’s collective flourishing. In the first few months, my twins started sleeping through the night, my leadership-AI startup is kicking into gear, and I’m booked to speak in at least 3 countries this year if nothing else.

It has not come without incredibly hard work, but I’m letting this year flow with ease wherever I can find it and asking myself why did I not choose this word every year?! A week after I messaged Hina, I recieved her gift in the mail. A pen with EASE on it for me to write the rest of the year.

I am very interested in my own peak performance. For me, this is a holistic endeavour. I’m not trying to extract from myself in the name of output, but live in a regenerative way where I can accomplish all I desire while not burning out. I regularly consider my 4 dimensions and how I can tinker with the grand recipe for different goals:
1. Emotional
2. Cognitive
3. Physical
4. Spiritual
My physical energy fuels my cognitive clarity.
My cognitive clarity helps me understand and regulate my emotions.
My emotional state influences my spiritual alignment with purpose.
It’s all connected.

I had the rare pleasure of sharing more of this side of my thinking recently on the Her Health podcast with fitness entrepreneur and influencer, . Listen to the rest at the link in her profile.

Engagement in half of your waking life likely comes down to one person: your direct people leader. It seems so crystal clear to me, and yet I’m constantly surprised by how few leaders have had any formal development whatsoever.

To be good at something is one thing, and may often get you the promotion, but the skillset required to succeed in leading other people may be entirely different from what got you there.

When you skill leaders intentionally, they win; those they lead win; those customers they serve win; and your bottom line wins.

Last week, I spoke at the Headquarters in New York, representing , on AI and preventing and countering violent extremism (PCVE). My focus: how organizational readiness and leadership connects to such important work.

In my research and practice, I’ve determined 3 core pillars that determine whether AI adoption succeeds or fails in an organization:
1) Governance (e.g. ethical and legal guardrails)
2) Technical readiness (e.g. AI and digital literacy)
3) Human readiness (e.g. addressing fear, trust, and change)

Above all of them sits leadership. Leaders interpret the unknown, set the tone for experimentation (or not), and decide whether AI is something to fear, to ignore, or to use for good.

If we invest in leaders first, we accelerate every pillar at once.

Real readiness is confidence and competence with conscience, and leaders who are technically capable, ethically grounded, and deeply human.

Grateful to Lilian Vicente, Sian Hutchinson, the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT), and Republic of Korea for advancing this conversation, and to my fellow humans working to ensure AI strengthens, not replaces, the human heart of PCVE.

Shoutout to: Sandra Moreno, Henry Adams, Maximilian Milovidov, Matthew Kriner, Samuel T. Segun, PhD, Ambassador Jihoon Cha, and all others in the dialogue. You can watch the full discussion here (will add to bio): https://webtv.un.org/en/asset/k1b/k1big83gmy

I’m honored to be partnering with the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT) and the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on an upcoming Special Dialogue on AI and Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE) at the United Nations in NYC this week.

My work and research encompass leadership, AI, and organisational readiness across sectors, and these questions matter just as much here in PCVE. I’ll be the opening speaker and joining a panel on Building Organisational Readiness for AI and PCVE, discussing what this can look like in practice around the world.

An exciting moment for . 10 years old this month, and we are now hiring what was previously my DREAM JOB: a Senior Learning Experience Designer at a remote-first, values-oriented, Canadian learning studio. We are architecting the future of work and leadership and ensuring people have the skills to thrive in that future.

This is a core role at our consultancy. The person will design inclusive, human-centred learning experiences, work closely with clients and facilitators, and help shape how our programs come to life across design, delivery, and storytelling. It’s a great fit for someone who sees learning as relational, grounded in theory and lived experience, and who enjoys building things with care.

If this sounds like you, or like someone wonderful in your network, please pass this along to them!

Job description linked in bio.

Deadline to apply: February 15
Anticipated start date: March 1

I spent the morning on BNN Bloomberg discussing employee wellbeing and engagement, corporate cultures, skills, and leadership. On this day in šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦, it should go without saying that people cannot disassociate their brain when they come to work (even if that’s rewarded). Caring for the whole human’s experience of life is a good thing to do and good for business.

I talked a lot about the role leadership plays, and will share the full segment when I have it, but for now, here’s one clip where I talked about how we at (and me as an individual) like to work with energy management and attention management when it comes to wellbeing—not just time management!

Thank you, ! Looking forward to talking more about all things human in the world of business again soon!

Dr. Bailey Parnell is officialy in the signature for life. šŸŽ‰šŸŽ“After years of work, research, invested weekends, thinking, writing, feedback, editing, and authentically using em dashes, I have officially graduated with a Doctorate in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor University.

I took the whole fam to Texas, including Nori and Izey, and it meant the world to me to make these memories with them.🄹

I’m thrilled to close this era of schooling and turn it into something useful for all. I’ve always been an action-oriented scholar—wanting to study things that could help shape the future and then following through on the knowledge I create in my work. One might think after years of studying leadership and artificial intelligence, I’d be bitter and discouraged in the current state of affAIrs, but the opposite is true. I’m motivated to share how good people are already using these tools for good, and how we can too. I believe that AI-assisted leaders can actually make everyone else’s lives MORE humane, in part, because I’ve seen it!

So if you know of orgs ready to discuss human-centric, ethical, and still very productive uses of AI, especially for leaders, send them my way! We all need as many caring people as we can find using these tools for good!šŸ’”

ā€œOllie & Friends: Ollie’s Talentsā€, my new children’s book, was inspired by the shared experience of feeling different and unlovable because of it, but also the power of the alternative: how a default of goodwill and kindness may let you see you someone’s gifts you never even knew were there.

The story was partially inspired by ’s experience growing up as a Muslim kid to South Asian immigrants in New York šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø and Scarborough šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦. And because of this, the truth is the story changed early on after thinking with him. Originally, Ollie showed some of his talents and then found kinship. But Hamza said ā€˜No.’ He said, ā€œI hated feeling like I had to be the model minority, and only then would people accept me.ā€ He was right.

We realized the story had to be written as it should be. People shouldn’t have to earn your goodwill with their shiny skills. They should have it inherently because they exist, and then just maybe, you will see their light as a consequence. šŸ™

ā€œOllie & Friends: Ollie’s Talentsā€ came out last week. I hope you’ll support the message and pick up a copy at the links in my bio.

It’s finally here! My first children’s book is out now, Ollie & Friends: Ollie’s Talents. šŸ“š

As the first book in the series, this has been quietly brewing in the background of my life for a long time. I actually finished the very first full-length draft the same weekend we had our first miscarriage last year, if you can believe. Then life lifed. Eventually, I found the right publishing partner in , the right illustrator in , and here we are! With the recent birth of our twins, perhaps the universe wanted the book to come now. ā˜ŗļø I’m so thrilled to share it now!

I hope you’ll support me and the message. You can now order ā€œOllie & Friends: Ollie’s Talent, direct from my publisher (recommended) or most places you get your books! LINKS IN BIO
