earn and practice at your own pace. Whether you are seasoned pro, enthusiastic amateur or complete beginner, this site is for you! The lessons are in audio and video format to be used with the sheet music found in the practicejazzguitar.com website for members and in the store for purchase for non-members. The lesson material presented here is from years of teaching materials that I have presented to students of all ages and instruments. These exercises in my experience have helped many of my students understand and learn the jazz language. Most of them have become successful professional musicians. A new lesson will be posted every week in the Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Lesson Sections. Ron Jackson has over 30 years of teaching experience. He started teaching students privately while he was majoring in Jazz Composition and Arranging at Berklee College of Music and when he lived in Paris. Since living in New York City, Ron has taught and performed in workshops for Music Outreach, Jazz at Lincoln Center-Jazz in the Schools and The New York Pops Create A Symphony Program. He has taught and lectured at the Prins Claus Conservatoire, “New Comes to Groningen” Jazz program Groningen,The Netherlands, Duke University, The National Summer Guitar Workshop Jazz Summit, St. Albans Congregational Church Music Program NYC, The New School, New York University, The Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz in Los Angeles, The Wells Fargo Jazz For Teens Program at NJPAC, The Brooklyn Conservatory and Jazzmobile, as well as in clinics in France, Escuela Creativa Musica, Madrid Spain, The United Kingdom, Austria, Germany, Australia and Portugal. Ron is currently a contributing editor at Acoustic Guitar Magazine and is accepting private students for online and in person lessons. After many years of teaching and writing learning material for my guitar students as well as other instrumentalists, I’ve decided to start a website making this knowledge accessible to everyone.
