SENIORS, prescreen season = prescreen prep + a prescreen PLAN. đŸŽ„đŸ’„

You’ve put the work into your songs and monologues. Now make sure the TECHNICAL side of recording is not what you’re thinking about when you record. Don’t let it get in the way of your work.

This week, Charlie, Matt Simpkins, and Dylan J. Locke (two of our fantastic videographers and photographers) are covering all things prescreen tech; including lighting, sound, filming, editing, common mistakes, and the details you need to know before you hit record so you’re confident and bold in your actual work.

The goal? Let the faculty focus on YOU and your work.

45 schools?! đŸ˜±

đŸ’„ Fun fact: Musical theater and acting applicants typically apply to 2–3 times more schools than the general college applicant.

The average MTCA student applies to 18–25 audition-based programs.

But here’s the key: it’s not about applying to the most schools—it’s about building a competitively balanced list.

Every student’s list will look different, and the total number of schools varies based on the student, their goals, academic profile pending the school, and level of artistic competitiveness.
