MTCA MTCA is proud to be the leader in coaching acting and musical theater students through the college audition process and beyond.

09/15/2026

Our first LA mock audition of the season is in the books!! These students came in prepared, confident, brave and malleable. SO proud of the work you're all doing.

MTCA Mock Auditions give you a chance to run all of your material, get extensive notes on each individual piece presented, in multiple rotations of difference coaches. Everyone improvised with interview skills and discussion. And of course our parents were assisted in a special meeting assisting them with the timeline ahead and how to organize it all.

Mock Auditions are the single most important part of the college audition prep (besides the one-on-one coaching!) Check out the upcoming dates below, make a plan for it, budget for it, and SIGN UP. Everyone needs an MTCA Mock. Link in bio 🔗

WEST COAST DANCE IN PERSON!! Is dance your WEAKEST of the three disciplines in MT?! .... GET INTO CLASS. It's the only way to get better 💃Running towards your weakest discipline is the best way to make yourself more competitive in this audition process‼️

And even if dance is your strength, taking our college prep dance class gives you insight into specific college audition expectations. It will make you ready for those dance calls when it matters.

MTCA Dance Coach Juliane Godfrey (BA in Theatre UCLA) will be leading this in-person class! She made her Broadway debut in SpongeBob Squarepants as the Dance Captain/Swing and traveled the country on the National Tours of My Fair Lady, Something Rotten and Beetlejuice.

You will be dancing to a combo from "Where I Wanna Be" from BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical!!

For the next few weeks, we are producing a new series called, "My Journey with MTCA." These videos will celebrate some of the hard-working, passionate, and committed coaches on our team. They highlight their paths from students to invaluable leaders.

MTCA Essay Coach and IC Conductor Lea Sevola talks through her amazing journey with MTCA. Lea started as an MTCA student and went on to graduate with her BFA in Musical Theater from Ithaca College. Some of her professional highlights include the National Tour of Legally Blonde (Vivienne), Present Perfect and USO Show Troupe. Lea has been an instrumental part of the MTCA family for many years and we're so grateful to have her as a part of the family.

Give our one and only Lea Sevola some love in the comments :)

💥Andrew Smith (Associate Professor of Acting at Carnegie Mellon) encourages students to let go of the idea of 'perfection.'

Letting your work be "messy" and "spontaneous" allows your creativity to thrive! A big thanks to Andrew for sharing his wisdom every summer and launching our students into a competitive mindset.
