The face of healthcare changing as Obamacare is implemented throughout the country.
" As the nation's earliest and most aggressive adopter of the healthcare overhaul, California faces more pressure than many states. Diana Dooley, secretary of the state Health and Human Services Agency, said in an interview that expanding some professionals' roles was among the options policymakers should explore to help meet the expected demand."

Stefanie McGowan RN, ACNP student (Class of 2013) was awarded a scholarship from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses to attend the Nurses in Washington Internship conference in Washington, DC, February 2012. The conference focuses on training nurses to become advocates for health policy issues on a a local and national level. Stefanie will meet with senators and house representative from NY.
