SPS Advising is hosting a webinar tomorrow at 10AM EDT, which is organised exclusively by students and is meant for the incoming cohort and the current as well. The Webinar is called ‘A Student’s perspective.” The webinar consists of 5 panelists who will be sharing their journeys and answering any questions that students may have.

Student Spotlight: Greg Hopper is a student of the Sustainability Science program, representing them in student government, acting as a voice for students, and advocating for expanded green initiatives across campus. The program, established in 2018, teaches students the skills needed to help organizations understand, monitor, and tackle their climate impact. He says one of his best experiences at Columbia, a weekend retreat with his cohort, where they discussed climate issues with the President of the Cary Institute, Joshua Ginsberg.

Dishti Gurnani is an At-Large Representative on the SPS Student Government and a full-time master's student pursuing her masters in Applied Analytics at Columbia. Data is growing at an exponential rate and Columbia SPS's Applied Analytics program offers the required skills in data analysis that can be implemented in cleaning, transforming and modeling data to discover very useful information that enhances decision making within businesses. Her favorite thing to do on campus is read on the steps of Low Library. Prior to attending Columbia, she graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering in 2017. She has 2 years of work experience as a Systems Engineer at an engineering company called M.C. Dean, Inc.
