The Constellation School of Music

The Constellation School of Music is a collection of teachers who provide private music instruction and private performance to students in their homes.

With an emphasis on fun, play and self-expression, our teachers give their students the skills and insights needed to tackle the wide world of music on their own. Our students learn to read music and play proficiently, but also learn to write songs, jam with their friends and really have fun with music. Most of our instruction is one-on-one, the type of environment required for the students to foc

us on their interests, while their teacher ensures that they are well-rounded in their understanding. While classical theory and concert music predating the 20th century is certainly taught, our emphasis is on music the student loves. We want to teach them to play what inspires them. Where their inspiration comes from does not matter. For example, if a student wants to play jazz and learn to improvise fluently, the teacher will direct the lessons to build towards that goal. Or, if a student wants to play shredder-style heavy metal guitar, the teacher can teach in a way that gets the student closer to that goal as well. Our teachers are well-versed in modern technology of recording, routine maintenance and repair. We can also advise you when purchasing or repairing your instrument or direct you to one of our partners who can service your instrument and provide music accessories. We have teachers ready to teach for the following instruments. If you are interested in an instrument that is not listed, please ask us anyway and we will find a teacher for you. Keyboard

Three times a year, our students get to show off what they have learned at our winter, summer and spring recitals. In a warm, casual setting, students of all levels and ages play their favorite song of all the songs they learned that year. We also encourage our students to play in duos and bands! Our teachers have lots of performance experience in a number of styles and settings and we provide group classes for interested students in addition to their weekly private lessons.

Young talent creating art together - so cool!

The latest BMF Songwriters CD is out! Here's one of our songwriters at this year's album release show. Each year 10 young songwriters- of all ages- are chosen to record their original songs! Other students play on the recording session, and the end result is a great collection of original music made entirely by kids, and a super fun CD release show where we get to hear the songs performed live.

Ok friends, in Williamsburg 10:30am music class is getting ready to go! Ms Eda & Mr Rob are there warming up, and are planning to stay for 12pm class.
