Yesterday, a gathering of former Mazenodians convened to initiate a new endeavor: establishing an alumni association in the USA for graduates of De Mazenod College, Kandana, Sri Lanka.

The meeting was productive, with twelve alumni in attendance. A working committee was formed to facilitate the association's establishment. Our sincere gratitude to Randiwa for graciously hosting the event and providing excellent refreshments.

This marks a promising beginning for the younger generation of Mazenodians!

OBITUARY NOTICE
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Mr. Eric Fernando, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Hemamali Fernando, and cherished father of Deepath Asela Fernando (Batch '76), General Dampath Fernando (Batch '78), Radhika Fernando (Batch '83), Damith Fernando (Member of old Mazenodians in USA), (Batch '84), and Prabath Prabath Fernando (Batch '89).

He was called to rest on 18th July 2025.

His remains lie at the family residence: No. 20, Circular Road, Kandana.

The funeral service and burial will take place on Monday, 21st July in the afternoon at St. Sebastian's Shrine, Kandana.

He leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, and love that will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew him.

OBITUARY:
The former principal of St. Anthony’s College - Wattala, Rev. Bro. George Bertram Remigius de Silva was called to Eternal Rest this evening at the De Mazenod Community House peacefully. The community Brothers were around at the time of his passing. The funeral arrangements will be notified to you soon. Please pray for the repose of his soul. May he rest in Peace.

Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Bennet Calistus Perera,.. beloved father of DMC former teacher and De Mazonodians in USA member Mrs Madhuni Perera and beloved father in law of our De mazenodians in USA active member Mr. Rienzie Wijerathne.

Remains lies at 293/H, Batagama north, Kandana.

Cortege leaves residence on Feb 22nd 2020 (Saturday)
at 3.00pm .to Roman catholic church Kandana.
