"Education and the Law: A Way Forward" will be a speaker event hosted by the Columbia Undergraduate Law Review featuring Sarah Hinger, a Senior Staff Attorney with the ACLU Racial Justice Program. This event is open to all and will be held in a hybrid format, from 7:30-8:30 PM on Wednesday, October 18th in Uris 301.
This event aims to raise awareness about the various ways in which the law could be used to advance educational equity, and why expanding access to education fits into a broader vision for social justice. CULR’s Online Division recently hosted an international essay contest in which high school students were tasked with analyzing how the law intersects with ensuring access to equal educational opportunities. This event will recognize the contest winners and allow them a chance to present their articles before entering a thoughtful discussion with our guest speaker, Sarah Hinger, on her work advancing educational equity through the law.
