As we continue celebrating National School Counseling Week, Match is proud to recognize Lyn Torres, Director of Counseling and Mental Health at in Texas.

Now in their third year using Match, Terrell ISD has demonstrated a deep, sustained commitment to supporting students as they plan for life after high school. Under Lyn’s leadership, counselors are connecting with students, listening to their goals, and helping them discover postsecondary opportunities where they can truly thrive 🙌

This year, 324 seniors in the Terrell High School Class of 2026 received 2,155 admission offers and $114 million in scholarships from 55 colleges. We’re honored to partner with dedicated leaders like Lyn who are expanding access and helping students discover college opportunities that fit them - without added barriers.

In honor of National School Counseling Week, Match is proud to recognize one of our stellar counselor partners: Kristie Matthews, 12th grade counselor at Baker High School in Alabama. Kristie joined Match for the first time this year through the Alabama Direct Admission Initiative.

Thanks to her leadership and dedication, 523 Baker High School seniors in the Class of 2026 have received 7,052 admission offers and $236 million in merit-based scholarships from 50 colleges.

In partnership with Alabama Possible, we’re honored to support counselors like Kristie who are expanding college access and helping students confidently take their next step.

Exciting things happening in Alabama! 🎉

Last week, EAB’s Hope Krutz and Kory Smalzer joined Alabama Governor Kay Ivey at a press conference to share how the new "Alabama Goes to College: Direct Admissions" initiative will open new doors for students across the state.

EAB and Match will be working with Alabama Possible, the Alabama Commission on Higher Education, the Alabama State Department of Education, and the Alabama Community College System to help ensure that every Alabama student who dreams of earning a college degree has the opportunity to make it a reality. 🚀

This week, we hosted a series of Q&A-style webinars for our Match counselor community, bringing together university representatives as panelists to address some of the questions and concerns we've been hearing around recent higher ed policy changes 📢
