BARNARD'S BUDDING ARTISTS
Emerging Visions
(collection on view now outside Barnard's Diana Center)
This collection of Barnard student art is a small glimpse of the work created in our visual art classes. These works reflect our students’ technical development as artists, and also allow us as viewers to see the world through their eyes as budding young adults.
1. Ava Price Barnard Class of ‘28 “Summer Shadows”. This piece emphasizes our impact on our surroundings by focusing on the shadows that follow us through life.
2. Richa Bavadekar BC‘25 "Untitled". These pieces are an exploration of painting the color of skin using my own hands as reference.
3. Anjali Jawa BC ‘28, "Looking Left".
This portrait was made in Procreate and focuses on soft lighting and simple, natural tones.
4. Judith Gottlieb BC ‘25 “Dining Table (The Other Side)”. The line between public and private is full of tensions that produce psychological response. Everyday places like bathrooms, closets, and basements within the public domain—spaces we often overlook in daily life—become prime poetic landscapes.
5. Amelia Dalvito BC ‘26 "Untitled". Painting inspired by the whimsey of my childhood.
6. Iman Taha BC ‘25 “Untitled" I created collages that delve into the imperfect nature of personal and collective memory through surrealism.
7. Antonella Abreu Filpo BC ‘25 "Harlem” is a meditation on exhaustion and intimacy—where the body sinks into the orange couch like the way Harlem holds bodies—black, brown, tired, dreaming—as part of its living architecture.
