"The Gift: 12 Lessons to Save Your Life" by Edith Eger:

1. Stop Playing The Victim
Edith Eger reminds us that we cannot control the circumstances we find ourselves in but we always have control over how we respond to them. We can let go of the victim mentality that entangles us in a cycle of helplessness and reclaim our power by focusing on what we can control and choosing actions that empower us. We are the architects of our destiny and must not relinquish this agency to situations or other people.

2. Confront Avoidance
Avoiding painful emotions and memories may seem protective, but ultimately keeps us bound to our wounds. Eger encourages us to come face-to-face with our pain as we cannot heal by numbing, ignoring or denying them. However, facing our pains doesn't imply dwelling in suffering, but bravely allowing ourselves to feel, process, and ultimately heal from the past.

3. Practice Self-Care
Prioritizing Self-care is necessary for healing. Eger emphasizes the importance of prioritizing our physical and emotional well-being. By nourishing ourselves with healthy habits, being compassionate toward our vulnerable selves, and treating ourselves with respect and kindness we would likewise extend to others. Remember, self-care is not selfish.

4. Release the Burden of Secrets
Eger reveals that covering painful secrets can become a heavy weight on our souls, and emphasizes that we seek safe spaces to share our secrets, it could be with trusted friends, family, or a therapist, can be a liberating process. Sharing our burdens enables us to process our experiences and receive empathy and support.

5. Forgive Yourself and Others
Forgiveness, especially self-forgiveness, could be quite a challenge but crucial for finding lasting peace. This is why the book encourages us to let go of the guilt and shame that may linger after making mistakes. Forgiving ourselves and others does not imply excusing their actions, instead it means choosing to break free from the grip of anger and resentment.

6. Grieve Authentically
Losses are a natural part of life whether big or small, and Eger encourages us to allow ourselves to acknowledge and grieve our losses, without rushing the process or getting stuck in a state of sorrow. Grieving genuinely frees us to move forward, carrying our experiences and scars but not letting them weigh us down.

7. Challenge Unforgiveness
If we hold on to resentment toward those who have hurt us. we extend our own suffering. Forgiveness benefits us more than we think. It is not excusing actions but freeing ourselves from the bitterness that poisons our hearts and minds. Eger encourages us to practice understanding and compassion and gives space for healing.

8. Conquer Fear
Although fear is a natural protective mechanism, it can easily hold us back from growing and living fully. The author, with a calming effect, inspires us to assess our fears and not let them paralyze us. She urges us to come face-to-face with our fears and let courage and determination guide our choices.

9. Embrace Acceptance
Being judgmental toward ourselves and others creates emotional distance and negativity. Eger gently guides us toward developing a spirit of acceptance and understanding that everyone makes mistakes and deserves empathy. This practice enables us to find inner peace and allows us to build genuine connections with the world and ourselves.

10. Cultivate Hope
Even in the darkest of times, holding onto hope has proven a powerful resource, and history points to this fact. Eger teaches us to never relinquish hope, maintain a positive outlook even when facing challenges, and believe we can overcome adversity and lead meaningful lives.

11. Forgiveness as a Gift to Yourself
Forgiveness can be challenging, but ultimately, a gift we give ourselves. By letting go of resentment and angr, we free ourselves from the emotional baggage of the past, allowing for greater peace and a focus on creating a fulfilling present and future.

12. Cherish Each Moment
Life is truly a gift, and Eger inspires us to take in every moment, even during hardship. By choosing gratitude inthe little things, making the most of our experiences, and living fully each day , we acknowledge and enjoy of the precious gift of being alive.

When it comes to making choices, are you more inclined to prioritize the needs and expectations of others over your own moral code and personal values?

I have spent countless hours studying and reading a vast array of books, guided by my innate sense of inspiration. This journey of self-discovery has ultimately led me to the realization that the most effective tool for manifesting one's desires is the power of feeling good.

Can personal growth be genuine if it goes unrecognized by others? Apparently…

I picked up the pen but the ink had dried,

I decided to write with my tears instead.

The sunshine, the flowers, the sweet spring season?

No, I write about the things I dread.

Monsters, Nightmares? Try again,

Enemies and hate? A big NO.

If you think those things scare me, you're hugely mistaken,

Cause I'm afraid of the fake love they show.

But whose fault is it?

Cause,

I was the one who expected it all,

Can't ever complain they disrespected me at all.

But it still hurts so much to find out I was wrong,

To just mean nothing to those I loved so long.

I cry in silence and in darkness I find solace,

I rise again and paint a smile on my face.

With open arms I welcome them all again,

This time ready when I embrace the fall again.

I'm tired of saying sorry even when I'm not wrong

I'm tired of putting efforts in friendships even when I know they will collapse as soon as I stop trying

I'm tired of caring for people who'll forget me as soon as I can't give them all the attention they want

I'm tired of being taken for granted

I'm tired of keep trying even when I know it all

But will I do it all again?

Of course, cause I'm me.

Being a servant leader means putting the interests of others above your own. You’ve probably seen some variation of these words before, but ask yourself the following questions: Do you put others before yourself in the workplace, among your friends, etc.?

I am a vessel of limitless potential, bound only by the confines of my own mind. Each day, I am growing, learning, and evolving, embracing the divine energy within me. I am capable of achieving anything I set my mind to, because my potential is infinite. I am not just part of the Universe, I am the Universe, full of divine potential, ready to manifest my dreams into reality.

Living mindfully is about embracing the present moment - the sights, the sounds, the smells, the feelings. It's about truly experiencing life as it unfolds in front of us, rather than being caught up in the past or worrying about the future. It's about finding beauty in the ordinary and appreciating the simple things. So, let's take a moment to pause, breathe, and be truly present. Remember, life is happening right now.
