I am so incredibly grateful to share some wonderful news: the family I’ve been supporting has officially made it to their shelter for a 21-night stay—arriving safely well before curfew.

Getting to this point took a lot of moving pieces, from ensuring every single piece of documentation was exactly right to simply trusting my intuition when navigating the system. This journey has also shown me the incredible power of community; through my mission with She Designs, a beautiful network of supportive moms has come together to help lift this family up.

I’ll be checking in with them tomorrow to map out the next steps toward long-term stability. But tonight, I’m pausing to celebrate. It happens to be my birthday weekend, and being able to share this win before heading out to celebrate with close friends is the best gift I could have asked for.

We are overjoyed to share that Kim’s family is officially on their way to a shelter outside the Atlanta city center. Central shelters are entirely at capacity—but today, she moves forward with her documentation and a clear path toward long-term stability.

Finding open doors is only half the battle. Many families hesitate to seek shelter out of fear of judgment or mistreatment, which is why providing a soft landing and consistent emotional support is everything.
