Procrastination Coach

Procrastination Coach Christine Li, Ph.D. New York, NY Welcome to Procrastination Coach! I want to help you get on with things. Get on with your work. Get on with your life.

Get on with what you have shooed away, denied, and forgotten. Helping people fight their Procrastination became one of my primary interests in 1999 when I volunteered to design a Procrastination Workshop for students at Columbia University. Little did I know how much the experience of building and running the Workshop would change things for me personally and for the direction of my work as a psyc

hologist. Since the start of the Procrastination Workshop, I have learned to blend the questioning skills of a psychologist and the engaging skills of a coach to find the best ways to help my clients break through their Procrastination. I have found that frequently, clients struggle with an undefined emotional conflict that prevents even the best-laid plans from working. By empathizing with my clients' emotional struggles, I have been able to be a partner with my clients in their exciting adventures, as they finish their dissertations, fine-tune their dating strategies, and adapt to their new lives post-Procrastination. Please feel free to read through the pages of this website to find out a little more about me and to see if Procrastination Coach services may work well for you or for those you care about. I wish you all the best in your battle against Procrastination!

What if the voice holding you back isn’t someone else’s... but your own? When you’re facing a big or overwhelming project, it’s easy to become your harshest critic. You question yourself, focus on what could go wrong, and sometimes talk yourself out of starting before you’ve even begun.

Dr. Christine Li offers a powerful shift: decide to become your own biggest supporter. Speak to yourself with the same kindness, patience, and encouragement you would offer someone you care about. Instead of shutting yourself down, start opening yourself up to what might be possible.

How much of yourself have you learned to shrink just to make other people comfortable? For many women, people-pleasing starts with years of conditioning:

Be who the group wants you to be.
Be who the environment expects you to be.
Be who your family taught you to be.

But at some point, Caroline Maguire says, we may realize that version of ourselves is no longer serving us. Growing into the woman, professional, boss, or leader you want to become can mean developing a thicker skin, letting go of old expectations, and deciding that you no longer have to shape yourself around everyone else’s approval.

Self-acceptance isn’t about disregarding other people. It’s about recognizing when adapting has crossed the line into abandoning yourself.

Making new friends as an adult can feel hard, but shared interests can make connection so much easier. Caroline Maguire reminds us that friendship doesn’t always have to begin with a big social leap. Sometimes it starts with something you already love. Birdwatching. Photography. Books. Fitness. Travel. A creative hobby. A niche interest you thought no one else understood.

Today, we have more opportunities than ever to find people who share our passions, whether that’s through an in-person activity, an online community, or even traveling to seek out experiences that matter to us. You may not have found “your people” yet because you haven’t found the place where your people gather.

What if the life you want isn’t too late, it’s just that you’re ready for it now? So many women reach midlife and look back with grief: 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘐 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘳? 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯’𝘵 𝘐 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘳? 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘪𝘧 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘥? But Caroline Maguire offers a powerful shift in perspective: 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘰𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘬 𝘪𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶.

The thing you want. The person you’re becoming. The life that feels more authentically yours. You can acknowledge what you wish you’d known then without allowing that grief to steal what’s possible now.

✨ It’s not too late to follow what lights you up.
