American Friends Of Tzohar

A trip to Jerusalem always does wonders to rejuvenate us and bring us enjoyment – this time was no exception.

There’s nothing as exciting as summer at Tzohar! Today, we are having a great time in the unique park in Jerusalem called “Gan Hapamon”.

An amazing Bar Mitzvah celebration for Shimon Yochai, a student of Darkei Torah/Tzohar.
The most incredible people with the hugest of hearts made a dream turn into a reality for a boy becoming a bar-mitzvah.
The bar mitzvah celebration was attended by Jews of all factions in the hall of Ashdod which was donated for the event. The guests where served gourmet food and entertained by the great singer Rav Moshe Duek, who volunteered his time as well as his full band. Simon Yochai also had special guests come to honor him on this momentous occasion. The Pittsburg rabbi attended the bar-mitzva as well as the chief rabbi of Ashdod, Rav Itschak Sheinin who gave special blessings for Simon and his family. The final event of the evening was a performance by the magician Krishevski, who astounded the kids with his masterful tricks and spectacular customs.

When you close your eyes and try to imagine having summer fun, you’ll probably see an image of the beach. We can keep our eyes open at Tzohar, because we actually are having fun at the beach.

The “Mila” project is just beginning its third cycle. The police department works in conjunction with Tzohar to educate our teenagers in the laws and regulations, and how to uphold them.

Our very own horse stables; a unique place where our students are in charge. The boys groom the horses, feed them, ride them, and manage all aspects of a horses ranch.

Some very outstanding boys at Tzohar were treated to a kayaking trip for their excellent school work. Besides for the fun we had, we got to cool off from the heat.
