That one time I asked Jake Odey-Jordan to take a picture and he thought I wanted one with him, but I wanted one with my guy Coach K. 😅😅😅 it’s all love Jake!

Partnered with my brother Jonathan W. Solomon to hold space for Men this Sunday morning honoring BIPOC Mental Health Awareness. In an effort to dismantle the preception of “manhood” we talked about the necessity of “filling our cups” and listening to our bodies. “Pushing through” to keep the peace is more deadly than helpful in our relationships.
I’m honored and thank God for favor and the turn out at our first event.

The other cool part about it was I held it at the lululemon store in front of my Ambassador picture 😎

BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Yoga Class
📍 Lululemon – West County
📅 Sunday, July 13th
🕗 8:00 AM

Join us for a special BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Yoga Class led by Alonzo Nelson in collaboration with Dr. Jonathan Solomon with the STL Run Crew, an intentional space designed to bring BIPOC men together for movement, mindfulness, and meaningful conversation.

Led by a certified yoga instructor, this free class will focus on gentle movement, breathwork, and mental clarity—no prior yoga experience needed. After the session, stay for an open dialogue on the importance of mental health and emotional wellness for men of color.

This is more than a yoga class—it’s a safe space to connect, reflect, and support one another on the journey toward healing and self-care.

All levels welcome. Mats are provided as needed.
Spots are limited, so registration is mandatory and early arrival is encouraged.

Let’s move, breathe, and build community—together.

Last year I had one athlete that qualified for nationals and wanted to take him But there were somethings I needed to do to make it happen. This year I made necessary adjustments.
I’m happy to be able to give my program this experience. Time to make some All Americans.

My last graduation at East Side 2017. I just finished my first year at West, but this group was very special to me. I substitute taught them in elementary school and I taught them as freshmen, sophomores, or juniors and They were some of the first graduates from the Running Start program. They influenced so much of my pedagogy (teaching approach). I wouldn’t be Mrdothemath without them. Now they are doing great in the world: lawyers, soilders, firefighters, policemen, teachers, and other amazing things. I couldn’t be more proud of these amazing young people. They represent everything good that has come from East St Louis.
