It’s only once a year, and today is it-🌟 March 3, 2021 is IBCLC day 🌟

There are only 32,500 IBCLCs (International Board Certified Lactation Consultants) worldwide (as of 2020) 🌎 and those of us who are in private practice rely on referrals to keep our businesses chugging along. COVID has drastically affected most of our businesses when supporting new families and helping to feed babies is more important than ever before.⁣

My amazing mom has had a grandma day each week with my kids (and when my eldest was a baby she had a day and a half!), and for many years, my father in law had an afternoon with my kids.

Do/did your kids have regular grandparent time in their week? Did you growing up?

Sociologists use the term “intensive grandparenting” to refer to a commitment to providing regular child care, often accompanied by housekeeping or other tasks.

Hi all, I have been considering what I can personally do to help asylum seeking families who have been separated at our borders. My impression is that money is needed more than goods right now. Here is my offer: send me a copy of your receipt showing your donation of over $150 to RAICES, ACLU or another established nonprofit serving these families. In return for your donation, I will choose three winners and they will get either a free one hour prenatal breastfeeding class or a one hour parenting consult regarding your child under age five.
