Taylor Thursday: “Airs” ✨
First performed in 1978, Paul Taylor’s “Airs” has captivated audiences for nearly five decades, and returns this November as part of Paul Taylor Dance Company’s 2026 New York Season. 💫
Set to music by G.F. Handel, “Airs” is one of Taylor’s celebrated works inspired by Baroque music. Across nine movements, the choreography moves between buoyancy and strength, intimacy and expansiveness, with the music shaping the rhythm and architecture of the dance. 🎶
There’s no single storyline to follow. Instead, “Airs” draws you in through musicality, shifting partnerships, and the way Taylor lets movement create its own sense of emotion and atmosphere.
Last performed by the Company in New York City at The Joyce Theater in 2024, “Airs” returns to the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center this fall. ✨
