Happy Juneteenth from all of us at KST Daycare & Preschool!
Today we celebrate Juneteenth, a day that honors freedom, resilience, and the enduring contributions of African Americans throughout our nation’s history. It is a time to reflect on the importance of equality, respect, and unity while celebrating the rich culture, achievements, and strength of the Black community.
At KST Daycare & Preschool, we are committed to fostering an environment where every child feels valued, respected, and empowered to learn and grow. We encourage our families to take a moment today to learn, reflect, and celebrate together.
Wishing all of our families a joyful and meaningful Juneteenth!

Early tracing activities are important because they strengthen the small muscles in a child’s hands and fingers—the “fine motor” skills needed for writing, buttoning clothes, using scissors, and other everyday tasks.
When children trace lines, shapes, or letters, they practice:
Hand strength and finger control
Hand-eye coordination
Pencil grip and pressure control
Moving the pencil smoothly from left to right
Visual-motor integration (making the hand follow what the eyes see)
These early skills make later handwriting much easier and less frustrating. Children who build strong fine motor skills before kindergarten often have better handwriting, more confidence, and are more ready for reading and school tasks. Research also shows that preschool fine motor skills are linked with later success in reading and math.
