My name is Asia Skerrett and I have been apart of Youth Board since it first began. I attended the Young Women's Leadership school and graduated in 2012. After learning about Project Stay through my high school I decided to join YAB. My volunteer work with Project Stay opened my eyes to the lack of knowledge my peers and I had about sexual health. Taking part in the youth board has allowed me to educate myself and others. I am currently in college and pursuing nursing so I can help people in the future.

Three words that would describe me are proactive, sociable and clever. All qualities that have helped me become an effective Youth Advisory Board Member for STAY Connected through Harlem's Project Stay Clinic. I am an alumnus from Aquinas High School in the Bronx. In high school, I volunteered and later worked for Phipps Community Development Corporation. Phipps CDC was the organization that introduced me to Project STAY during their visits. Now an enlightened student at City College and member of the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success, I have directed my studies to Psychology and Education. I have a passion for educating working with children and young people. Although I do plan to teach children for a couple of years, my ultimate goal is become a clinical psychologist specifically working with adolescents.

I have been doing sexual health outreach since my sophomore year of high school, its a passion. I am currently coming to an end of my year deferment from Monroe College, getting excited to go back and earn my degree in Business Administration (concentration in Human Resource). I have been keeping busy by getting involved with the building of a foundation which will hopefully launch by Spring 2014. Also, got involved with helping author Luis Castillo (my uncle) with the writing and editing of his 3rd book. I am the definition of myself; I get involved, I do what I love, I do things a little weird and most importantly I don't forget my goals or the steps to reach/surpass them.

My name is Imani Skerrett and I have been apart of Youth Board since it started. I was raised in Harlem, where I also attended the Young Women's Leadership school and graduated in 2012. I joined YAB while in high school after learning about Project Stay. Adolescence sexual health is something that always sparked an interest of mine. In high school I did volunteer work for project stay, while doing so I realized many of my peers were not educated properly about sexual health. The opportunity to be apart of youth board gave me the chance to really make a difference and directly help teens by giving useful information. I have a passion for helping others and that is why I am choosing to pursue nursing as a career. I am currently in college and I have also studied at Barry University.
