Today, we remember our dear friend and longtime supporter Agnes "Aggie" Gund, who passed away yesterday.
For over 50 years, Aggie stood by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, championing their vision with her generosity and friendship. Her belief in their work and her encouragement were a source of strength throughout decades of projects that transformed landscapes and redefined public art.
We are deeply grateful for her service on the Board of the Christo and Jeanne-Claude Foundation, where she guided us with wisdom and care during three important years.
Aggie's legacy lives on not only through her extraordinary contributions to the arts, but also in the memories of those who had the privilege of working alongside her and calling her a friend.
She will be profoundly missed, but her spirit of kindness, courage, and support will remain with us always.
