8 Most critical trends redefining college admissions right now

1. The Standardized Testing Paradox: The Return of the SAT

2. The FAFSA Fallout: A Disaster with Lingering Effects

3. The Diversity Dilemma: Life After Affirmative Action

4. The AI Arms Race: Bots Are Reading Your Essays

5. The International Exodus: A 14% Drop and Counting

6. The Mental Health Toll: Anxiety in the Arms Race

7. Direct Admissions: Cutting Out the Application

8. The Fall of Legacy Preferences

Your essay might be read by a person or parsed by a machine. International students are staying home. Domestic students are overwhelmed. The system is in flux, and the only safe strategy is flexibility, resilience, and a healthy measure of skepticism about any advice that claims to have all the answers.
