On this day in 1973 Cindy Campbell threw a party in the Bronx, hired her brother to DJ and became the catalyst for the beginnings of this world wide phenomenon we call HIP HOP. Here’s more hip hop her-story as we celebrate 53 years of a culture that women (and girls) had a hand in creating and cultivating from day one.
