Congratulations to Mario A. Penzo, PhD 2012 on receiving the 2026 Rising Star—Scientific Investigator Award!

Dr. Mario A. Penzo is a neuroscientist at the National Institute of Mental Health whose research has identified key brain circuits linking emotion, motivation, and behavior. His work is advancing our understanding of how the brain processes internal states to guide decision-making, with important implications for mental health.

Join us in congratulating Boris Paskhover, MD 2011, the recipient of the 2026 Rising Star—Clinical Practitioner Award!

Dr. Boris Paskhover is a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon known for tackling some of the most complex craniofacial cases, restoring both function and quality of life for patients with few treatment options. As Chief of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, he combines surgical innovation with a deep commitment to patient care.

Congratulations to Racheline G. Habousha, MSLS, recipient of the 2026 Einstein Honorary Alum Award!

Racheline G. Habousha came to Einstein in 1975 and this year transitioned to Librarian Emerita of The D. Samuel Gottesman Library, after 50 years. Her dedication to medical librarianship, education, and information accessibility has strengthened academic medicine and supported generations of learners, researchers, and clinicians here at Einstein.

Congratulations to Priya Nori, MD 2007 for receiving the 2026 Distinguished Alum Einstein Service Award!

Dr. Priya Nori is a leader in infectious diseases and antimicrobial stewardship, directing a nationally recognized program designated a Center of Excellence by the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Through her work in clinical care, education, and public health, she is helping combat antibiotic resistance and improve patient outcomes.

Congratulations to Gloria Fung Chaw, MD 2008, recipient of the 2026 Distinguished Alum Humanitarian/Service Award!

Dr. Gloria Fung Chaw is a global health leader who has helped build community-based care programs in Uganda serving more than 4,000 patients with chronic disease. Through her work in the Bronx and internationally, she has expanded access to care, strengthened local health systems, and trained hundreds of future physicians in underserved settings.

We are proud to recognize George Y. Wu, MD, PhD 1976 as the recipient of the 2026 Distinguished Alum Clinical Medicine Award!

Dr. George Y. Wu is a pioneering physician-scientist whose work in targeted delivery of genes and biological therapies to liver cells has helped shape modern hepatology. A prolific scholar with more than 240 publications and a member of the National Academy of Inventors, he has also mentored generations of physicians and advanced medical education worldwide.

Congratulations to Alexis M. Kalergis, PhD 2000, recipient of the 2026 Distinguished PhD Alum Award! 🎉

Dr. Alexis M. Kalergis is an internationally recognized immunologist and leader in vaccine research. As director of the Millennium Institute on Immunology and Immunotherapy in Chile, his groundbreaking work in respiratory viruses and immunology continues to advance global health and scientific collaboration.

Dr. Lindsey Robert Baden is a renowned infectious disease expert who co-led the first Phase III clinical trial of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine—work that helped bring one of the world’s most widely used vaccines to patients worldwide. A longtime NIH-funded investigator and leader in vaccine development, his work continues to shape global responses to emerging infectious diseases.
