Hello Everyone! Please join us on October 29th from 1-2:30 in the RPR for our Fall Student Assembly. Feel free to express any concerns or ideas you want SGA to bring attention to. Refreshments will be provided! Your voice matters at MMC, speak up!
Students,
Student Government has heard your concerns regarding the Cafeteria, and this semester we have been working hard to address them. In a meeting with Andrew Pappas, the new Senior Director of Dining Services, he guaranteed our Senator for Food and Health, Catherine Pool, these following advancements for the fall semester:
1) Meatless Mondays are in effect! Look forward to meatless entrees in the fall semester! We are proud that MMC will supply more options to those who don't eat meat as well as being more sustainable!
2) Chartwells will be purchasing new color specific utensils for vegetarian pasta and meals! This includes separate knives at the sandwich station for vegan and vegetarian sandwiches, separate saute pans for vegetarian pasta dishes, and a vegetarian specific griddle scraper to make sure the griddle is clean for veggie burgers. This effort will make sure that cross contamination is limited as a much as possible.
3) Chartwells will also be looking into purchasing a new table top fryer to fry meats separately in order to avoid cross contamination.
4) More organic, locally produced, unique, eco-friendly bottled beverages will be supplied in order to avoid the overuse of plastic water bottles. That being said, the soda machine will be refilled often so that those who want sparkling water and such should have it available.
We are happy that we are able to guarantee these advancements for students next year! As always, SGA will monitor the cafeteria with monthly meetings with Andrew Pappas in order to address student issues.
Congratulations to our new executive board!!! Look forward to Student Government Association being run by President Brenelle Braganza, Vice-President Allison Lehman, and Secretary Dylan O'Brien! Another congratulation to our new Senators, Vannessa Johnson, Emily Karandy and Catherine Pool!
If you would like to join SGA as a Treasurer or a Senator please contact Student Government at [email protected]!

Yesterday we donated a whole bunch of supplies to the Schools Helping Schools Fundraiser, which will go directly to students in Puerto Rico and St. Thomas who have been affected by the recent hurricane. The fundraiser is over, but if you’d like to help the relief effort, please consider donating at http://hispanicfederation.org/donate.
