CO-directors of Propel: Future In Motion Lindsey Morgan and Gregory Dolbashian with Sean Curran and Ashlynn De George (and Mayra Santos - Tisch Dance BFA 2 Student in second picture) in Orlando, Florida this past week for their fabulous convention.
Sean was recruiting future Tisch Dancers and Ashlynn was teaching dance classes. Ashlynn is a Tisch Dance Grad and a member of SCCo.
Congrats to Lindsey and Gregory for their fabulous leadership and Kudos to the many, MANY super talented dancers taking part in classes, performances and scholarship auditions. Looking forward to next years edition!

TOGETHER AGAIN reunites choreographers Seán Curran and Amy Pivar – who first danced together in the 1980’s NYC’s downtown dance scene – and features world premieres of two solo dancetheater works: Pivar’s Detraumatizing the Archive: Mu‘u mu‘u Dances and Liederkreis, created by Curran in collaboration with choreographer/performer Benjamin Freedman.

Assistant Arts Professor Allen Fogelsanger and alumna Kristen Foote (MFA, '19) have published a detailed analysis of José Limón's dance Chaconne set to Johann Sebastian Bach's "Chaconne" from his 2nd Violin Partita.

Their essay appears in Bach: Journal of the Riemenschneider Bach Institute, in a special issue on "Choreographing Bach's Famous Chaconne," which also includes Raymond Erickson's "Bach at the Barre: An Annotated List of Choreographies Using J. S. Bach's Violin Ciaccona (Chaconne)," and Keir GoGwilt's "A Violinist's Viewpoint: Performing J. S. Bach's Chaconne in Bobbi Jene Smith's Broken Theater."

Tisch Dance Faculty celebrating their graduating Dance Students on Friday, May 17th, at the Tisch Salute to the class of 2024!

Mark Randall (Associate Dean and Professor at Parsons School of Design) came the the BFA 1 Creative Research Class to present his Honey Bee Lecture Demonstration. We learned of the "Waggle Dance" that bees do and their intricate choreography and sophisticated use of space - Honey Bees are dance makers too! Mark is a Bee Keeper and owns B-Line Honey Ice Cream Company. He ended the presentation with free Ice Cream for all. Thank You Mark and Thanks to all your brilliant Honey Bees too!

cari ann shim sham's dance film Bleu is featured in the 20th Anniversary Showcase for the Sans Soucci festival of Dance Cinema showcase and is touring internationally!

The film festival has also selected cari ann's short dance doc SAND as part of their “Creating Community through Screendance” curation in collaboration with The City of San Marcos Arts Commission.
