Featuring violinists Seungwon Park and Inhae Cho, violist Ilgyeong Shin, and cellist Hyeonmin Lee, the quartet formed in 2019 at Seoul National University.

The anniversary is an opportunity to “look back and consider what a dance education can be,” says President Damian Woetzel, the first dancer to lead Juilliard. “It’s about learning how to learn.”

One of the founding faculty members of Juilliard Drama, Elizabeth Smith (faculty, 1968–2020; faculty emeritus, 2020–2026), passed away this week. Her influence shaped generations of theatrical artists both worldwide and here at Juilliard for more than 50 years. Uncompromising in her exacting standards, she led dramatic vocal training with extraordinary rigor and an unwavering commitment to craft.
