So, I decided to work on something a little different, and I’d love to introduce you to Jewel, an artist from the ’90s whose music has always carried such a haunting, melancholy beauty.
Her music really resonated with me when I was younger, and I especially loved her album Pieces of You. One of my favorite songs from the album is “Foolish Games.” It’s such a beautiful melody to play on the piano and sing, and it’s a song that has stayed with me over the years, so I decided to give you a little snippet of it, with me playing and singing it on the piano. I hope you love the song as much as I do. ❤️

Here is “Foolish Games” by Jewel. 🎹

Time to celebrate, there’s a NEW BLOG POST! Why I teach piano with colors before letters 🎨🎹

Colors + patterns + play = stronger musical understanding. In my latest blog post I explain why letter stickers can become a crutch and how color-based learning helps kids truly understand patterns and notes. 🎵 Can you clap this rhythm? 👏
If you read music, you’ll probably know it right away! But with so many schools reducing or eliminating music programs, many children never get the chance to learn how to read music.
In my piano studio, we use simple index cards like these to make learning rhythms, notes, and dynamics fun and interactive. My students absolutely LOVE clapping, tapping, and playing these musical patterns—and it’s exciting to see them become fluent in the language of music.
One of my favorite rhythm activities comes from the wonderful Music for Little Mozarts series by . 🎹
That’s one of the reasons I’m so passionate about teaching children as young as 4. Every lesson is an opportunity to help them become fluent in the language of music while having fun along the way.
Now it’s your turn... 👏 Did you clap the rhythm correctly? Let me know in the comments if you recognized it right away or if this was your first time trying to read a rhythm!

Hi! I'm so glad you're here. 💛

I'm a private lesson music teacher, and I have the privilege of helping children grow through piano, voice, and ukulele lessons.
One of my greatest joys is watching students discover that mistakes aren't something to fear—they're part of learning.

In my studio, we work through challenges together, celebrate progress over perfection, and make each new step feel approachable.

Every lesson is personalized to meet each child where they are, building confidence alongside musical skills.

Whether we're playing the piano, singing our hearts out, strumming a ukulele, or tossing scarves to explore rhythm and movement, my goal is for every student to leave feeling more confident than when they arrived.

Because when children feel supported, they don't just learn music—they learn to believe in themselves. ✨

Did you know that before 2015, I had never even touched a ukulele?

At the time, I was so focused on being an opera singer and teaching piano that I never imagined I’d have the time—or the need—to learn this tiny little instrument.

Then one day, I walked into a music store and saw a little red soprano ukulele hanging on the wall. I knew immediately that I had to bring it home.

I spent hours learning chords (especially that tricky D7!), and after lots of practice, I finally had enough chords to play some of my favorite songs. From that moment on, the ukulele and I were inseparable.

I brought it into my classes, and I loved watching my students light up when they saw this little instrument. There was something about the ukulele that made music feel fun, accessible, and full of possibility.

I remember thinking, “I wish I could teach all these children how to play the ukulele.”

And eventually, that’s exactly what I got to do.

Teaching ukulele has become one of my greatest joys. I love watching children experience that first moment of success—the excitement of playing a song, the confidence that comes from learning something new, and the realization that they are capable of creating music themselves. It’s amazing how one little instrument can open the door to so much creativity, connection, and confidence. 🎶

Have you or your child ever discovered a passion you never expected? What might happen if your child found an instrument that inspired them?

At Treble Time Music Studio here in Queens, I get to see firsthand how something as simple as making music can have such a big impact on a child’s development. 💛

Playing instruments isn’t just fun—it helps build fine and gross motor skills, supports early literacy and math concepts, strengthens focus, and gives children a creative outlet to express themselves.

One of my favorite parts is hearing the stories families share throughout a student’s musical journey—whether it’s a child proudly performing their newest song at home, asking to practice without being reminded, or hearing how the confidence they’re building in lessons is carrying over into school and everyday life. Those moments are a wonderful reminder that music is about so much more than learning an instrument.

That’s why I love what I do.

If you’ve been wondering how music can become a meaningful part of your child’s day, I’d love to welcome you to the studio.

Come see how music helps little ones grow with confidence, curiosity, and connection. 🎶✨
