Who likes science?
Dr. Essawy is a pharmacologist with a Ph.D. in molecular and therapeutics. She obtained her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from the University of Minnesota in 2014 and later completed her Ph.D. in 2022 at the same institution. Her research focused on innovative methods to study how mammals recognize and repair drug-induced DNA damage. During her time at the University of Minnesota, she actively contributed as an undergraduate student researcher and junior scientist at the medical school. Now, her passion lies in inspiring and supporting young scientists to pursue careers in science.

Researchers in women's mental health must be spotlighted.
Dr. Mahmoodi is an assistant professor of Psychiatry at University's Irving Medical Center. She holds a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of San Francisco, obtained in 2004, and later completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Palo Alto University. Her research is centered on the mental health of pregnant and postpartum Muslim individuals in the United States and globally. She dedicates her efforts to working with refugee women, providing them with interpersonal psychotherapy to enhance their well-being. Dr. Mahmoodi's psychological expertise encompasses various mental health challenges faced by the Muslim community, including depression, anxiety, trauma, perinatal mood disorders, and other mental health issues.

Dr. Eltantawi is an associate professor of Modern Islam at University in NYC, specializing in contemporary Islamic history. She earned her degrees from UC Berkeley and University before joining Fordham in 2020. Her research centers on Islamic law, Nigeria, and Egypt, with a notable book titled "Shari’ah On Trial: Northern Nigeria's Islamic Revolution." She is currently engaged in projects related to Islamic reform, identity, and politics, and is also known as a political analyst, writer, and radio show host. Dr. Eltantawi's insights have been featured in major publications like the New York Times and on prominent media outlets like , , .

Heba Mohamed 🌟
Heba is a recent graduate of University, where she studied the history of science. She was awarded the Maurine Rothschild Prize for her senior thesis titled "Medical Humanities in Gaza, Palestine: The Evolution of Aid Delivery in Light of Siege." During her time at Harvard, she held various leadership roles, including President of the Society of Arab Students, member of the Harvard Arabic Debate Team, and an editorial position at the Undergraduate History of Science Journal. She also co-chaired the Arab Conference at Harvard and worked as an interpreter at the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinic.
