There is debate in the world of small (and large) businesses over which is more important, belief or action.
The truth is that they should fuel each other.
If you truly believe that something is possible, chances are you’re going to get out there and make it happen. That belief will inspire you to keep going even when challenges come your way, and they will.
And when your belief in what’s possible for you and your dream falters, and it will, continuing to take action will help you strengthen your belief in yourself.
The biggest challenge is uncovering the negative beliefs that lurk under the surface. These are thoughts that fuel doubt and cause you to pull back from action or self sabotage when you take it.
We all have them buried in our subconscious from past experiences and societal messaging. When you uncover them, you can let them go and take your next step forward in belief.

Some days we can’t get out of our own way. Your rational mind might even know it’s happening and you still feel powerless to stop it.
It’s even more frustrating when the things that usually work to get you back into your body just don’t.
Next time that happens, try the power of the pause. Stop, take a deep breath and notice.
Notice what’s going on in your mind and your body.
Without judgment.
Oh, my mind is spinning. Oh, I have a knot in my stomach.
Then label it.
This is anxiety. This is stress. This is anger.
And then, choose to accept it.
This is where you are today. It’s okay. It’s safe to feel these feelings. It’s safe to let them go.
May you be happy. May you be healthy. May you be well. ♥️

Successfully navigating change means creating a bridge between the old version of you and the new version.
This creates intense emotions. Anger, grief, fear, overwhelm, excitement.
These emotions create anxiety and resistance in your body even when the feelings are positive. When you’re in resistance, it’s impossible to think clearly. Your nervous system is triggered and all your brain wants to do is keep you safe.
Calming your nervous system and letting your brain know you’re safe opens up your mind and body to possibilities. It helps you see the opportunities in the challenge so that you can move forward.

People pleasing has a cost to you and your relationships. When you are constantly putting the needs of others ahead of your own, instead of building connection, you create anger and resentment.
In any relationship, there should be a give and take. Sometimes the other person’s needs will take priority and at other times your needs should be the priority.
If you are a people pleaser, there is nothing wrong with you. And you might want to start to pay attention to how often you stifle what you need or want because you are afraid it will create conflict in a relationship. Just notice and then see where things go from there.

This was on my client’s story recently. I asked her if I could share it.
When we started working together in 2022, she was trying to get herself to go for walks around her neighborhood consistently multiple times a week.
She said things like” I should be exercising. It feels like an obligation.”
We tapped on the thoughts, “ I have to do this. It’s good for me. I’m taking care of myself. “
By October, she had joined a gym, was figuring out how she was going to work out on her business trip and had started to shift her thoughts to:
I get to go to the gym.
I’m privileged to be able to go.
It’s a great community.
I’m taking care of my health and my body.
Four years later, here she is celebrating 500 workouts and a healthier, stronger body. We haven’t worked together in almost three years and she’s going strong.
