🎨 Hey PS 86K Families! 🎬

Can you believe we’ve made it to the final week of the school year?! We are wrapping up an amazing year of creativity and art with an epic, jam-packed Spirit Week from June 22–26! 🥳✨

First, a massive Happy Father’s Day this Sunday to all of our incredible PS 86K dads, grandpas, and father figures! We love and celebrate you! 💙👔

Then, get those outfits ready because Monday kicks off our ultimate Grade Color War! 🎨 From there, we are rocking matching outfits for Twin Day 👯, staying eco-friendly for Reusable Water Bottle Day 💧, repping our favorite teams for Soccer Jersey Day ⚽, and wrapping it all up in true island style with Tropical Day on Friday! 🏝️🌺

Friday is also our LAST DAY OF SCHOOL! 🎉 We hope all of our multimedia and arts superstars have a fun, creative, and safe summer break. 🏖️📸

🥁🎨 What an UNBELIEVABLE night at PS 86K! 🎬✨

Our Grades 3-5 Magnet Family Night was packed with creativity, rhythm, and so much joy! Families jumped right in and created some serious magic together. Here are the highlights:

🔹Masterpiece Makers: A huge thank you to Studio in a School! Our families got super creative experimenting with vibrant oil pastels and beautiful watercolors. 🎨🖌️

🔸Groove Masters: Shoutout to our amazing music teacher, Ms. Kiberstis, for getting all ages moving, drumming, and making music together! 🥁🎵

🔹Animation Pros: Kudos to Ms. Tenaglia, Ms. Pazmino, and Ms. Zelek for showing our families how to bring characters to life, design cool backgrounds, and master new tech skills! 💻🚀

Thank you to all of our incredible families for coming out and shining bright with us! We love making memories together. 💙🌟

🎉💃 WE CAME, WE DANCED, WE CONQUERED MANHATTAN! 🕺🎉

For the third year in a row, our incredible 2nd, 3rd, and 4th graders brought the absolute best energy to the streets of NYC for the annual ! 🗽✨

The beats were loud, the rhythm was contagious, and our students completely rocked the parade route! 🥁🎶 A massive shoutout to Ms. McLocklin, Ms. Costello, and our amazing guest teaching artist, Raka, for leading the way and helping our stars shine so bright! 🌟👏

📸 Focus on the Magic at PS 86K! ✨

Our 2nd Grade Photography Club is turning the world into a masterpiece! 🎨 From crawling for a bug’s-eye view 🐜 to looking down from a bird’s-eye perspective 🦅, these young creators are learning that art is all about how you see it!

Highlights:
🌳 Park Trip: Hunting for cool shadows, sharp lines, and hidden shapes! 📐
👥 Portraits: Capturing the best smiles and personalities of our classmates! 📸
🧠 Skills: Building focus, patience, and visual storytelling every step of the way.
