The structure of our 30 minute lesson was designed to engage the swimmer with fun to help them learn faster and retain more. This starts with the splashing and singing in the introduction, all the way to team interaction at the end. So when you hear us singing, doing Monkey walks and spending lots of time doing back floating it is all to help them progress and to teach safety
The goals almost never are learned in order. This means if you see your child accomplish the second goal on the list, it doesn’t mean they have completed goal one. Every child learns different and our focus is to see at least one progression each visit, no matter which goal it is
Each one of the goals has multiple progressions in order to help the swimmer learn and retain the important safety and swim skills. The progressions can range from 3-7 for each goal, and although this sounds like a lot, don’t worry, multiple progressions can happen in one lesson! The focus is to create muscle memory and retention for best and fastest results.

SURVIVAL WEEK IS COMINGI
Monday, February 21st through Sunday, February 27th.
We will be doing a different theme for every Survival Week throughout the year. We will also include plenty of safety information to share with you and your swimmer.
The theme of this Survival Week is Pajama Party!
At British Swim School, our number one goal is safety, and we pride ourselves on our water survival weeks to concentrate all our focus on your swimmer's safety in and around the water. We believe it is crucial that children experience survival skills in the water fully clothed so they can be better prepared in this situation, with the hope to alleviate as much panic as possible. We want to work with them in a controlled environment so they can do all the same things individually.
To simulate this experience, we host our "Survival Week". During this special week of lessons, all our students are asked to wear clothes over their swimwear during their
regular classes.
Being in the water fully clothed, but under the supervision of instructors allows us to teach your child vital water survival skills, It's also fun for the kids!

While bathtime can be a fun and exciting way to strengthen parent-child relationships, it can also present a host of dangers if the proper precautions are not taken. Keep the bathtub fun—but safe—with these important tips for Bath Safety Month!

🧼 A parent or caregiver should always be present when a child is near water, including the tub. Accidents can happen in an instant!
🧼 Affixing a slip-resistant mat to the bottom of the bathtub can help to prevent slips and falls.
🧼 Always wait until the bathtub is finished filling up before placing your child in the water, as the temperature can change.
🧼 Use a rubber cover for the faucet head and beware of other sharp edges when your child is in the bath.
