Breaking News! State Assemblymember Marcella Mitaynes to Speak at Nonviolence Works!

Progressive and direct action activist for justice Marcela Mitaynes is a State Assemblymember representing AD 51 in South Brooklyn. She will speak today, Oct. 2, at the Nonviolence Works! conference on a panel with City Council District 38 candidate Alexa Aviles. They will speak about their commitment to direct action and nonviolent civil disobedience as an elected official (Mitaynes) and electoral candidate (Aviles). Both were endorsed by South Brooklyn DSA, and DSA’s Religious Socialism Working Group has endorsed the Nonviolence Works! conference. The panel “Democratic Socialism in the Streets Today” starts at 8:45 pm tonight. Register Here.
