You may have seen the “big news on reading” from the Sold a Story podcast recently.🌱📚 If you haven’t, the Rooted in Language team HIGHLY recommends that you take the time to listen. We’ve linked the podcast for you here—all 6 episodes are worth it.👇

This is CRITICAL information for parents to know regarding your child’s reading education. If you have children in the “learning to read” years, definitely listen; if you have a struggling reader, please listen; if you’re planning to teach or are teaching your child to read yourself, please listen; if you’re planning to send your child to school during their “learning to read” years, FOR SURE listen.
At RIL we want to join this conversation, unpack the info for you, and do it justice. This kind of shake-up can leave both parents and educators enraged and confused.🤯
So we’re planning a discussion series In January, to digest each episode, summarize the salient take-aways, discuss WHO the “big players” are behind these ideas, and have a real conversation about what we at RIL see in the research ourselves.🧠
If you’d like to follow along, you can start listening to the Sold a Story podcast episodes now (report by Emily Hanford), and look out for our January series!
If you’ve already been listening, feel free to comment below with some questions or thoughts you may already have swirling in your head.👇
