On Wednesday, June 10, the St. Hilda’s & St. Hugh’s community gathered at St. Paul’s Chapel at Columbia University to celebrate the Class of 2026. Joined by family members, faculty, trustees, and friends, our eighth grade students were recognized for their accomplishments and the many contributions they have made during their time at St. Hilda’s & St. Hugh’s.
As they prepare to begin their high school journeys, we congratulate them on this milestone and look forward to all that lies ahead. We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2026 and wish them every success in the years to come.

Yesterday, we hosted our Closing Exercises for students in Nursery through Grade 7. Each ceremony included the presentation of certificates marking the completion of the students’ respective grades, special musical performances, and the recognition of our eighth graders and the secondary schools they will attend.
As the 2025-2026 school year comes to a close, we celebrate our students and faculty for a year filled with growth, learning, and accomplishment. Congratulations on a wonderful year!

This morning, students in grades 6-8 gathered for our annual Sports Breakfast to celebrate an incredible year of athletics, including four NYCAL Championships in girls cross country, boys and girls basketball, and boys volleyball.
We were honored to welcome alumna Kate Carman ’16 as our guest speaker. Kate shared her journey from collegiate volleyball standout to a professional athlete in Europe, inspiring our student-athletes to pursue excellence on and off the court.
Students were recognized for their achievements throughout the year, and our three-sport athletes were honored with St. Hilda’s & St. Hugh’s sweatpants in recognition of their dedication across all three seasons. We thank our coaches for their unwavering support and wish our eighth graders the best of luck in their high school athletic careers. We look forward to seeing our returning athletes back in action next year!

Upper Division students in grades 4-8 enjoyed a fantastic Field Day filled with sunshine, teamwork, and school spirit. Organized by our Physical Education Department, the day featured team and individual sports, giving students the opportunity to stay active and enjoy some friendly competition with their classmates.
Whether competing, cheering on classmates, or simply enjoying the beautiful weather, students embraced every moment of the day with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. It was a wonderful celebration of community and an exciting way to welcome the summer season.

Over the last two mornings, our grade 3 students gathered for our annual Poetry Breakfast, sharing a selection of poems with classmates and families.
From poems about family and friends to pieces inspired by personal interests and experiences, students showcased their creativity and growth as writers. The Poetry Breakfast is a cherished grade 3 tradition and one of the milestones that marks the end of students’ time in the Lower Division.

What a joy it was to celebrate our Upper Division musicians at this year’s Spring Concert! Our brass bands, choruses, and instrumental ensemble performed a wonderful program featuring both classical and contemporary favorites.
We are deeply grateful to Mr. Olney, Ms. Soleimany, Mr. Nester, and Mr. Cha for the dedication they bring to our music program each day. Their guidance helped make this performance such a special celebration of our students’ hard work. Bravo to all of our performers for an outstanding concert!

From Plymouth to Salem to the streets of Boston, our 7th and 8th graders spent three unforgettable days exploring history, learning together, and making lasting memories with friends and teachers. From guided tours at Plimoth Patuxet and the House of the Seven Gables to sightseeing through Boston, this annual class trip is always a highlight of the year - and this year did not disappoint!

Students, parents, and faculty gathered on Thursday evening to celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month through an evening of community, culture, and learning. Guests enjoyed authentic cuisine, participated in Asian-inspired activities, explored displays honoring influential Asian historical figures, and took part in an interactive martial arts demonstration led by a special guest instructor.
Thank you to Ms. Morel and the many staff members and parent volunteers whose hard work and dedication made this meaningful celebration possible.

Grade 4 hosted its annual State Fair, sharing weeks of research and preparation through projects focused on states across the country. Families, faculty, and friends enjoyed visiting the displays and hearing students speak about their work and discoveries.
In this year of our nation’s 250th anniversary, the State Fair offered a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the people, places, and stories that shape the United States. We are proud of Grade 4 for their hard work and effort throughout the project!

Our beloved annual Senior Kindergarten PE Show was a celebration of the skills, teamwork and enthusiasm our students have been building all year in Physical Education. The morning began with a dynamic warm-up and featured a variety of favorite activities, including tag games focused on helping classmates, a new “Hungry Hungry Hippos” scooter challenge, parachute tricks and a spirited dance that got everyone involved.
It was a joyful way to start the day and a wonderful reflection of the energy and confidence of our Senior Kindergarteners. Thank you to our outstanding Physical Education faculty for making this cherished tradition so special each year!
