It’s been a while since our last Stroyka workshop. So much has changed, but we’re excited to share some great news: our family architectural workshops are coming back!
Together with Olga Kudrina, we’ve launched Архитектурная Мастерская Для Детей от 7 до 107, and we can’t wait to welcome you to our classes at Tribeca Synagogue.

Here is a great resource to continue your exploration of paper architecture. A well-known studio Foster + Partners recently released a series of templates that kids can use at home to create their skyscrapers and cities:

Last Sunday, StroyKa held our third workshop dedicated to Alexander Brodsky and Visionary Architecture. We had a fantastic time experimenting with the new virtual format and creating paper cities. Our talented young architects created cities with pineapple-castles, scissor-houses, and buildings shaped after chess pieces, as well as many other fascinating forms and inhabitants.

Happy Passover! Chag Same'ach!
While you are home and maybe enjoy cooking as a family, I wanted to share some activities that combine your favorite foods and architecture.
Sometimes we wonder where architects find inspiration for their projects. They say that real artists should be hungry. Well, let's see!
Did Antoni Gaudi love ice cream or maybe Zaha Hadid cooked pasta right before creating her project in Beijing? Let’s take a look at famous projects and draw parallels to different food. Try creating your own building inspired by the food your family enjoys. Share your creativity in the comments below!

We already learned about one of the famous constructivist architects Moisei Ginsburg and his projects. Here's an opportunity to continue discovering and maybe even create your own constructivist playground. Please check out the beautiful kit by Poznań-based design studio Zupagrafika.

Dear StroyKa Families,
Hope you're staying safe and healthy! As most of us are trying to adjust to the new normal, hopefully, that also means more quality learning for the whole family. We want to recommend a few books to consider if your kids are interested in continuing to explore the world of architecture:

Second StroyKa workshop took place last Sunday. We discovered the works of Moshe Safdie and how his innovative Habitat 67 project in Montreal put him on the world stage. We learned about brutalism in architecture and got a chance to create our own towers. We had a great time together and looking forward to seeing you at the next workshop dedicated to Alexander Brodsky on April 26th.
We wish health and safety to all StroyKa families during these times of uncertainty!
