Our is highlighting Dr. Wright and Columbia Cancer!
Over the last 10 years, Cervivor Ambassador and Wellness Advisor, Patti Murillo-Casa has teamed up with her oncologist to provide a screen and treat program offering women in NYC free cervical cancer screenings.
Dr. Wright shares, “Patti has taken her own experience to advocate for women with cervical cancer, it has been a privilege for me to be able to assist her in her efforts. It has truly been a great partnership for us to develop events, programs and outreach activities to reduce the burden of cervical cancer.”
Patti shares, “Dr. Wright always been supportive to the Cervivor organization and my advocacy work. We are thankful to Dr. Wright and his staff at the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Columbia University/NY Presbyterian Hospital for putting these events together. Because of them, hundreds of women have been screened and many lives have been saved.”
Their upcoming screen and treat day is on Saturday, February 5. For more details, visit: https://cervivor.org/events/.
Patient advocates and their oncology team can make the best partnerships when it comes to reaching more people in one’s own community. Do you currently partner with your oncology team? Give them a shout out in the comments below!
P.S. We have a great session planned for the Cervical Cancer Summit this Saturday 1/29 that covers this exact topic. It’s not too late to register! Sign up by registering here: https://bit.ly/3A0bvxV.
