🌾 Julia Norton () is a multidisciplinary artist and educator. She’s currently enrolled in Surreal Encounters, bringing a lot of inspiration and colorful wisdom to class!

❤️‍🔥 In her art practice, research, and education work, she explores the unique qualities and legacies of natural color materials 🌈 such as: ochres, mineral pigments, and plant based inks and dyes. 🎨

💭The imagery of her work references dreams, memories, rituals, and myths ✨that tell stories of life cycles of all kinds🌎 including those that are human, animal, geological, ecological, and spiritual. 🌌🕯️

Kollin Kirven ⚡️ ✨ is a Washington, D.C. born, Virginia based Poet, Photographer and Curator of the digital viewing room, , which highlights Black Contemporary Artworks that visually engage the concepts of play and repose. 📖🕯️With an interest in making work that urges for personal and communal representations of desire beyond whiteness and that visualizes the ways we perform within and around Blackness, her photographs celebrate dynamic visions of Black people by depicting them in various states of play and repose, at home and in nature. 🌿 Similarly, she views her writing practice as a way to enumerate her desires and as an experiment towards intimacy, healing and play. 🫧

🦄 Alexis Caruso ( .o )✨ is a textile artist, designer, and educator based in Maplewood, NJ. After graduating from art school, Alexis co-founded .Bird.Studio this Fall and established it as a workspace and local artistic resource. 🧤Her artwork deals with themes of desire, abundance, indulgence, identity, and the human body. 🍯Alexis has been exploring food items, specifically cakes, as artistic inspiration. Through paper mache, textiles, and photography, she is slowly filling the buffet table piece by piece. 🍽️

🎉Friday Artist Feature—Susan Everett! Her amazing image objects combine industrial materials and photography. The wall assemblages/constructs question the bounds between form, space and material. Each plane becomes a new layer of interactivity and visual play for the viewer as they attempt to place what is real and what is illusion.
