From our July MOTM: “I joined PupilPrep in order to provide mentoring service to young students who have a desire to be taught new material and be challenged, or those who need supplemental academic assistance, free of charge. By being a mentor I strive to become a more organized and effective teacher. I consider it an accomplishment every time I am able to positively impact the learning of my mentees, and I would like to continue to offer free tutoring in the future.” -Maks Coven

Today is Pupilprep’s one year anniversary!

In one year, our mentors spent 10,345 hours in prepping materials, meeting mentees, and teaching lessons/hw. Thank you all of the Pupilprep mentors for contributing and giving back to our community! ❤️

From our April MOTM: “I teamed up with PupilPrep so that other kids could have a chance that I couldn't. As a kid, it really would've been nice to have mentors who pushed me to success at an early age. From years of being in the school system, I've come to learn that the earlier you push for excellence, the better. By being a PupilPrep mentor, I aspire to enhance learning for children while also developing my own skills as an educator. The support I receive to reach this goal is overwhelming! I'm never lost or confused and the experience feels like a puzzle fit with all the right pieces. So far, I've formed great bonds and have had memorable laughs with my mentees. I hope to continue to make more memories. Becoming a better leader and educator motivated me to join as a mentor and I hope fellow mentors continue to use all resources available to them. For any new mentors, I would like to say that we're all glad to have you here and I hope you not only teach but learn as well!”

From our March MOTM: “I joined PupilPrep because I was looking for a way to help amid all the closures and shutdowns caused by the pandemic, and came across this organization by chance while looking online. Though I had never tutored before, my curiosity was immediately spiked when I found PupilPrep. Looking back, I’m so glad that I gave it a shot! As a mentor, I always hope to foster an environment of learning for my mentees, and more importantly, an environment where they can be themselves and have fun. And PupilPrep allows me, and other mentors, to do just that. In particular, I appreciate the degree of freedom that PupilPrep gives to mentors. By being able to develop lesson plans fully based on my trial-and-error and mentees’ feedback, as well as the important guidelines from PupilPrep, I felt that I was able to truly personalize my mentees’ learning in a way that could help them best. Thus far, my experience in PupilPrep has been incredibly positive. Everyone in the PupilPrep community, whether it be mentees, other mentors, or executives, is friendly and kind. For me, the greatest joy of being a mentor is being able to watch a mentee grow in their understanding of a concept, or in their excitement about learning - it is so fulfilling to be able to help them in a meaningful way. If I had any advice for my fellow mentors, it would be to make an effort to get to know your mentee, through activities, games, and casual conversations.
