We have been busy working on our class doudous (loveys)! Each child carefully selected a fabric and drew the shape of their doudou. Then we explored different ways of connecting fabric together - using snaps, zippers, laces, but especially sewing! 🧵
The kids sewed by themselves using plastic needles and then those who were interested tried a little bit of assisted sewing with a metal needle. 🧸

Yesterday we explored the fabrics from our dramatic play corner to become mermaids, turtles, and more. Kids each had their first experience speaking in front of the whole class and presented themselves using the microphone. 🎭

We LOVE our Music class with Rémy ! 😍🎼

The Downtown Early Childhood Association represents NYC independent schools below 34th Street. La Petite Ecole NY will be participating in the 5th Annual DECA Fair on October 8, 5 PM–7 PM, with over 40 downtown schools represented. We’d love to see you there!

Clouds teacher Selena performed her show "Mon Carton / My Cardboard Box" at La Petite École last spring. Now it's in the Philadelphia Fringe and Cannonball Theatre Festival. In fact, Mon Carton is a Cannonball Performances for Young Audiences Special Presentations Track Winner!

11am performance of ‘Mon Carton’ featuring Selena Rook. The magic and mystery of a featureless box provide the entry into a world of discovery. Mon Carton uses physical theater, object manipulation and magic to create visual surprises and poetic metaphors that speak to audiences of all ages. Stay for our FREE interactive events!

11:30-3pm FREE Circus skills workshops, crafts, and lessons in comedy. Kids and families can try their hand at all types of circus skills, participate in circus-oriented craft projects, and take a break with some snacks in the BAH lounge.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for kids. Entrance fee includes a show ticket for Mon Carton and following interactive events.
