Bloating while dieting 🥺 whyyy??
🤍
Doing everything right? Eating less cals? Waist line lookin good?? Then bam…weight loss stalls & bloating takes over!!
🤍
Yup. It happens. Here’s why and here’s what to do about it…
🤍
Dieting, for lengthy periods of time, can cause significant stress on your body. Then, when you add exercise on top of that, cortisol levels start to rise & the body starts holding on to water. Kind of like a fight or flight response.
🤍
The good news is that this can be avoided all together with something called refeed days. Refeed days are meant to supply your body with enough cals to make it think you’re not dieting. Then, when you start to cut cals again the body starts losing weight and the bloating is minimized.
🤍
Now how many refeed days do you need? This is where it can be different for everyone. For me, having a body fat level lower than 20% requires 1-2 consecutive refeed days every 2 weeks. Some may react better to 3 consecutive days every 4 weeks. Just try a few different methods and see what works for you. Just remember…refeed days are NOT meant to binge eat and eat s**t. You still have to be strategic in how many cals you eat or else you will gain fat.

Cut mode starts ➡️ NOW
🤍
After spending the last three months in a calorie surplus…eating well & lifting heavier… it’s now time to cut cals to reveal the fruits of my labor‼️
🤍
For some people dieting alone can make you look somewhat toned. But when you’re looking for those extra cuts, dieting alone cannot get you there. It’s a roller coaster that stats with eating high cals to building muscle then cutting back to reveal the results.
🤍
I know the concept of eating a lot and gaining weight in order to tone sounds so strange. But I’m living proof of its method. And let me tell you…it works‼️

The excitement on my face is real!! 😀
🤍
Had to take a last minute road trip and totally forgot to pack protein powder. Most of the time these pre-packaged shakes are high in calorie and low in protein. But thank goodness for this incredible & delicious “ Food Find” by
🤍
My Personal Protein = 25g protein / 120 cals
Ensure Max Protein = 30g protein / 150 cals
🤍
Remember protein levels must be consistently maintained when trying to both build muscle and lose weight!! It’s the one macro not to mess with!!
🤍

04/22/2022

Yup. It’s exactly what you’re thinking….
🤍
Creatine bloat!! 😭
🤍
Many might ask…whyyyy would you put yourself through this? The answer is easy…My goals are long term. When I reach a goal I set a new one. And while I looked great on my vacation a few weeks ago there’s always room to be better, leaner, stronger, healthier!!!
🤍

🤍

04/06/2022

So what happens after you reach your goal?
🤍
2 things: You can either maintain yourself there or set another goal.
🤍
Maintaining yourself at lower body fat levels sounds amazing…but…doing this all year round can sometimes be tough and quite frustrating. The idea of eating in a calorie deficit all year sounds painful to me. In addition, eating less for lengthy periods of time, can cause muscle loss if the right steps aren’t taken (aka that nice b***y you worked so hard for will start to shrink).
🤍
I personally always take the latter approach. After I work hard to look incredible for summer or a vacation, I immediately set a new goal - build more muscle (aka bulk) to eventually look leaner the next time.
🤍
This can be so scary for many. The idea of bulking and not looking as toned is not very appealing. But if you time it properly…In between those “I must be sexy moments” then all will be fine. The key is to take advantage of those in between timeframes. Start consuming more calories, weight lift at least 3-4x/week, ensure protein levels are maintained & grab that Creatine. And when it’s about 2 months before that “big day” start shredding. Cut cals, stop Creatine, add extra cardio, continue weight lifting and always maintain protein levels.
🤍
