Kylian Mbappé Has Apparently Retired From the Business of Pleasing Everyone
Kylian Mbappé has made one thing very clear: he is not planning to redesign his personality just because somebody somewhere is unhappy with it. Speaking to RFI, the Real Madrid superstar said he never wanted to please everyone and insisted that he cannot be someone else. His final message was even simpler—he will always be himself.
That attitude comes after years of living under the football spotlight, where Mbappé has faced constant discussion about his performances, personality, ambitions and decisions. At Real Madrid, the microscope has become even larger. Every goal creates headlines, every quiet game creates debate and every interview can become a story of its own.
But Mbappé’s latest comments suggest he has accepted that pleasing everybody is an impossible assignment. His priority is apparently to remain authentic rather than constantly adjust himself according to public opinion. So if anyone was waiting for a new version of Mbappé designed specifically to satisfy every critic, the delivery may be delayed indefinitely.
