In many cases, the best thing you can do for your 9th grader is not getting an early start on test preparation, but rather setting them up academically for success. A 34+ on the ACT or a 1500+ on the SAT doesn’t happen without strong foundations.
There are cases when students can (or need to) get their testing done early, but generally, 9th grade is an excellent time for academic excellence and strengthening content foundations.

As our children enjoy summer camp, days at the beach, and travels around the world, our students are also sharpening their skills, previewing upcoming courses, and reviewing pertinent material. Why? Because middle and high school student brains need repetition, because rested students learn better, and because children want to ease the transition back to school in September.
Summer is the time for us to help position our children for success come fall. We want the transition to September to be smooth, and for our children to go in with confidence as they adjust to new teachers and concepts.
