Anna Emberson’s Senior thesis project “909 Glenhaven Drive” honors the spirit of her grandparent’s house, which was destroyed in the Pacific Palisades fire last January. Although we are unable to return to the places we once inhabited, they remain a part of us. The duality of loss, which divides life into “before” and “after,” is explored through a synthesis of materials that survived yet were altered by the fire with recreated heirlooms that have been abstracted due to memory reconsolidation.

Anna Emberson (@310.anna ) is an interdisciplinary artist and designer born in Los Angeles, whose work centers on the defining people, places, and experiences of her life, expressed through vibrant and decorative depictions.
