What if you've never seen a blissful birth? Does that mean it isn't possible? I don't think so. I think we believe what we see and what we hear, and if all you've ever heard are stories about pain, fear, interventions and everything that can go wrong during childbirth, then of course that's going to become what you expect. But that doesn't mean that's all there is.

You can become curious about something you've never experienced. What else is possible? What if birth could be different? What if you could prepare for birth without preparing yourself to be afraid of it? You don't have to know the answer. You can just allow yourself to wonder. I think that's where it starts.

That's what I want to share through MerkaBirth and conscious birth. Not that your birth has to look a certain way, but that there are possibilities you may never have been shown before. You think you need to understand everything before we can give birth. How it works, what your body is doing, when to breathe, when to push. But you don't. You don't know how to make your heart beat. You don't know how to make your blood move through your body. Your body already knows. It is the highest technology we have, and birth is part of that great mystery.

When I gave birth, there was a point where my body was here and I wasn't. I was somewhere else. I call it the Gates of Life. I felt like I was going somewhere to meet the soul of my baby. I didn't have to make my body birth. It just did. I just had to allow it.

There is so much more to birth than we have been led to believe. You can make your choices, create a space where you feel safe enough, and then let go. Trust. Surrender.
