A Prayer for Clarity of Values
O Loving Power,
Source of all tenderness and all truth,
Be with me now.
When the world grows loud with cruelty,
When anger dresses itself as strength,
When lies walk proudly in daylight—
Anchor me.
Do not let me forget what I know in my bones:
That dignity belongs to every human being,
That kindness is not weakness,
That justice is not a fashion,
And that love, when made fearless, is the most powerful force of all.
When I doubt myself,
When I feel lost in the fog of fear or fatigue,
Lift my chin, steady my gaze, and whisper:
“Remember who you are.”
Remind me that inclusion is not naive,
That diversity is not disorder,
That liberation—for women, for queerness, for the colonized, for the silenced—
is not a dream,
But a sacred and unfinished task.
When the world tempts me to betray my principles,
Let my soul rebel.
When the cost of truth feels too high,
Give me the courage to pay it.
If I ever confuse noise with truth,
If I ever mistake domination for order,
Hold me back from betrayal—of myself, of others, of You.
Let me live with integrity, even when it is inconvenient.
Let me speak with compassion, even when I am weary.
Let me stand with the vulnerable, even when I feel alone.
May I never grow so cynical that I stop believing in humanity.
And may I never forget that my life is not mine alone—
It is part of something vaster, softer, stronger.
