BrightMinds Tutoring NY is excited to announce that we will be offering in-person tutoring in the areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics for children in grades 1-5. These small group sessions will be taught by a Childhood Education (grades 1-6) NYS-certified teacher. The sessions will consist of 6 students, for 1 hour twice a week. The cost per child is $25 per session. (This price applies only if the child enrolls for the entire 2022-2023 school year).

We are excited to offer Spanish classes to students in grades K-5th. Join us via Zoom on August 5th at 6pm to learn more about our program structure, location & tuition.

Marlix Hernandez, founder and CEO for BrightMinds Tutoring NY. was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in NYC. She has been a resident of Rockland County since 2017 where she lives with her husband and four children.

Marlix has been a dual language / bilingual classroom teacher for 10 years and has taught grades 1, 2, 4 and 5. She received a B.A. in Sociology and Bilingual Childhood Education in 2013 and a Master's Degree in Special Education in 2015, both from Lehman College (CUNY). She then received a second Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction: Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Concordia University in 2016. Her last degree was awarded in 2020 from Long Island University in Educational Leadership.

Marlix is very passionate about teaching and learning. Nelson Mandela once stated "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world". Marlix strongly believes that her mission in life is to change the world through the power of education.
